Harvey Weinstein a well known personality in Hollywood. The New Yorker published a report about him sharing accounts of sexual assault and harassment by multiple women in the Hollywood industry.
When the news went viral on the internet a lot of well known actresses shared their experiences with the man. Which made the news even more prominent on the social media? A number of incidents were shared from his employees and Ashley Judd.
Recently Angelina Jolie shared her comments on Harvey Weinstein controversy
Angelina said that she was propositioned by Weinstein in a hotel room during the release of Playing by Hearts in 1998.
Angelina sends an email to New York Times saying that she had a bad experience with Harvey in her youth as a result she never chose to work with him and warns other when they do.
She concluded by saying that this behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable.
Now comes the most interesting part
NYT report included similar accounts of Weinstein coercing young women into giving him massage while naked or watching him shower with promises of career advancement in return.
Charles J Harder Weinstein’s attorney said in response.
Weinstein’s attorney in response said in a statement that the story is “saturated with false and defamatory statements about Harvey Weinstein.” They had sent NYT facts and evidence but they ignored it and published it.
Ashley judd told the New York Times her story.
She said she was once invited to meet Weinstein at a hotel for what she expected to be a business breakfast meeting.
Instead she was sent up to his room where he appeared in a bathrobe and asked if he could give her a massage. When she refused he asked her if she could watch him shower.
I said no a lot of way, a lot of times and he always came back at me with some new ask she added.
After this Weinstein became a trending topic on the social media where a number of actresses of Hollywood reacted with disgust and outrage, actresses like Lena Dunham, Jennifer Lawrence and George Clooney shared their experience with Weinstein.

As a response to the report with a lengthy statement in which he said that I appreciate the way I have behaved with colleagues in the past caused a lot of pain and I sincerely apologize for it.
I want a second chance in the community but I know I have got work to do to earn it, he added.
